Well, I've recently gotten 2 new tarot decks: the Epicurian Tarot Deck and the Tapestry Tarot. The Epicurian Tarot is a recipe card tarot deck that's fun for novelty - I wouldn't use it for a reading, but the recipes look pretty good! The Tapestry Tarot is very pretty, and actually my mother-in-law bought it for me when we went to a used bookstore this weekend. Its very pretty, and I've never seen the deck before, ever, so that's pretty cool.
I've had terrible back pain the last couple days, so I'm going to do a quick 2-card reading about it. The first card will be the cause of the problem, and the second card will be treatment. Here goes:
Cause: Knight of Pentacles
Treatment: Eight of Swords
Hmmm... Well, the cause seems pretty obvious, at least. The Knight of Pents is a card of slow movement. I think it means that I need to start exercising again - which I did tonight! Maybe I'll try to do some yoga, too, in addition to walking every day. But the 8 of Swords is a hard card to read in this case, it shows a woman standing on a rocky beach blindfolded with her arms bound, barefoot, and surrounded by swords. (What kind of treatment is that?!) Its a card of uncertanty and being blinded by emotions...
By the way, for everyone that yells at me for not updating my blog often enough, David is setting up www.photogrove.com as a family blog for us. I'll probably post more often there, because I won't feel bad about going on and on about the non-tarot aspects of my life there.
10 of swords=acupuncture? *L* Yeah, I'm silly tonight. But hey, it's worth a shot, right? Love you much, talk to you soon! *bighug*
Posted by: Katie at March 8, 2004 10:01 PMYou know, that's not such a silly idea! I didn't even make that connection!
Something about accupuncture really creeps me out, though. Not that I have a real problem with needles, even, but just the number of needles used in a treatment seems intimidating to me.
Posted by: Jen at March 8, 2004 10:35 PMInteresting theory, Katie. I took the card to mean "relax and don't stress yourself." Details:
In the deepest sense, I suppose it could be translated as "danger is without, peace and quiet is within."
A rocky beach would be a picturesque vacation scene, but could be dangerous if you try to interact with the scenery, like climb on the rocks. The swords are more danger around you, that you should not interact with. The blindfold means don't pay attention to, or don't be tempted by, the stressful or harmful situations around you. The bound arms also keep you from interacting with these situations. The card is a warning.
In relation to Jen's pregnancy and her back pain, I think the card means that she should take it easy. Even though she is used to being able to carry X over to put on Y, she shouldn't. Even though she is used to doing Z all day, she shouldn't. Even though she wants to interact with and do all of these things, they are actually what cause her pain. She should rest more.
Posted by: LuxFX at March 8, 2004 10:52 PMYeah, I think you should take it easy, Jen, and then get accupuncture. Just to be safe and cover all your bases *L* But seriously, I do hope your back pain clears up. I saw the bronzed baby (Amit is a crackhead). VERY cute :) Can't wait to see the video. Talk to you later! Much love
